About

Linnea's teaching philosophy revolves around engaging students physically, mentally, and emotionally- connecting students with ballet in a way that feels natural and exciting for them, at any level.

With over 10 years of experience as a dance instructor, Linnea has taught ballet to students of all ages and levels- from creative movement to professional dancers. She has also led master classes across the country while on tour, including in university settings like UCLA and UNCSA. She is passionate about teaching technique from a Vaganova- influenced lens, but incorporates perspectives from other syllabi and prominent voices, like Balanchine, to give students the chance to learn as much artistic information as possible. Linnea leads students to feel empowered to make choices about their artistry, and in turn about the trajectory of their personal development and dance journey.

After completing Boston Ballet School's Adaptive Dance teacher training program, Linnea also co-founded "Adaptive Dance: New Perspectives," a dance class for students of all abilities at School of Nashville Ballet. She also secured funding for this class to ensure all participants could receive a full scholarship for years to come. Linnea also led "Dance without Limits" at Georgia Academy of Dance- a similar style class, and one of the only programs in southern Georgia of its kind. While in Georgia, Linnea also started Georgia Dance Theatre's community outreach performance series, which she choreographed, coordinated logistics, and hosted community discussions around each show.

Linnea served as an administrative assistant during summer intensive programs at UNCSA and The Washington Ballet- and in the latter also worked as a Head Chaperone responsible for student living and experience. She was also the Arts Program Coordinator for the Arts Council of Fayette County, where she organized community events and fundraisers to raise money for local arts organizations and independent artists.
